The documentation of the state preceding, accompanying or following an urban intervention - whether or not it has a major impact on the territory - has become a precise action of BAMS studio, from both a practical and conceptual point of view.

The architectural evolution of a site represents a valuable analytical tool and ensures the collection of an archive that certifies step by step the development of works, as well as the change of the property in its context.

The site documentation offers future generations material for comparison and insight, to understand the mechanisms that lead to the transformation of cities and buildings. The photographic campaigns carried out by the pioneers of Italian photography - such as Alinari and other great masters in this field - have generated a historical memory of the landscape that changes over time, fundamental for the study and future design of urban areas.
